Bio

A native Nuyorican, Suce was born in the Lower East Side and moved to Puerto Rico at a young age. After a year at La Universidad de Puerto Rico (Arecibo) he returned to Gotham which set him on the path he continues to follow today.

In 2000 Suce began producing his mentor Bobbito Garcia’s CM Famalam radio show on Columbia University’s WKCR, longtime broadcasting home to the Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Show. “I learned most of what I know about DJing from being in the studio with Bob and Lord Sear,” he recalls. “That was the experience that really led to everything.”

From March 2003 to February 2016 Squeeze Radio show was the home for raw and uncut music. Broadcasting via New York city's hailed WKCR 89.9FM radio station and hosted by friends DJ Suce (aka Sucio Smash aka DJ Jer2) and writer/journalist Timm See (aka Timmhotep Aku) the show quickly gained acclaim due to their unique chemistry, musical selections and guest appearances.

In the pre-streaming era,Squeeze Radio was responsible for introducing listeners to now-classic recordings and freestyles by the likes of MADVILLIAN, Blue & Exile, J. Cole, Lupe Fiasco, Kanye West, and Roc Marciano amongst others.

In 2007 Suce created independent record label/production company High Water Music supporting the careers of artists like Fashawn, DJ Spinna, Willie Evans Jr., and most recently Brainorchestra and Ewone.

In 2016 Suce created one of New York's most culturally impactful open format parties, A Party Called Rosie Perez, alongside Dj Laylo & Sociedad's Chritian Mártir.

In January 2022, he co-founded The Shop by Butter Roll & High Water Music, a Roller Skate & Record Shop in his neighborhood of Ridgewood Queens, NY. Through The Shop & High Water Music, Suce continues to spotlight upcoming talents & preserving the independent music culture.
